When to call

Emergency tree situations we handle

Tree on a house or shed

Roof, wall and outbuilding damage needs a careful, controlled removal so the damage doesn't get worse.

Blocking a driveway

Trees across driveways, lanes and gateways cleared so you can get in and out.

Fallen onto a fence

We remove the tree, and our fencing crew can secure the boundary.

Split or hung-up limbs

Broken branches caught in the canopy are unpredictable. We bring them down safely.

Leaning or uprooted trees

A tree that has shifted or lifted at the roots after a storm can fail without warning.

Near power lines

Keep well clear and call your lines company first. We plan the job around the safe approach distances.

Safety first

Make it safe, then clear it

If a tree is on or near power lines, treat the lines as live. WorkSafe's guidance on trees around power lines sets a general minimum safe approach distance of 4 metres. Keep yourself and others well clear and call your lines company before anyone goes near the tree.

FAQs

Emergency tree work questions

01Do you offer emergency tree removal in Hamilton?

Yes. We respond to storm-damaged, fallen or dangerous trees across Hamilton and the greater Waikato. Call 021 024 76217 as soon as possible and we'll make the situation safe.

02What should I do if a tree has fallen on my house?

Get everyone out of the affected area, keep clear of the tree and anything it is touching, and call us. If the tree is on or near power lines, stay well back and contact your lines company first. Take photos for your insurer, but don't go under or climb on an unstable tree.

03A tree has come down across power lines. What do I do?

Treat the lines as live and keep yourself, children and pets well clear. WorkSafe's general minimum safe approach distance to overhead power lines is 4 metres. Contact your lines company, and call 111 if anyone is in immediate danger. We can clear the tree once the lines are made safe.

04Will my insurance cover storm damage to a tree?

That depends on your policy, so check with your insurer. Take photos of the damage before and after, and keep our invoice for your claim.

05Do you clear the tree as well as making it safe?

Yes. Once the situation is safe we cut up, chip and remove the tree, and we can grind the stump. If the tree has damaged a fence, our fencing crew can secure and repair it.

06How much does emergency tree removal cost?

It depends on the size of the tree, how easy it is to reach and what it has fallen on. Call us, tell us what has happened, and we'll explain the options and the cost before work starts.

07What areas do you cover?

We cover Hamilton, Cambridge, Te Awamutu, Morrinsville, Ngāruawāhia, Huntly and the surrounding Waikato districts.
