How it works

From measure-up to a gate that swings

On-site measure-up

We look at the opening, the ground and how the gate will be used, and give you a clear quote.

Posts & foundations

Posts are set deep and braced so the gate hangs true and stays that way.

Build & hang

The gate is built or supplied, hung on proper hinges and fitted with a latch.

Check & tidy

We check it swings and latches freely, and leave the site clean.

Fence and gate together

Built to match the fence either side

A gate is only as good as the fence it hangs in. We build residential, rural and commercial fences, so the gate, posts and fence line are planned as one job.

  • Gate styled to match your fence
  • Posts sized for the gate's weight
  • Local crew, fully insured

FAQs

Gate installation questions

01Do you build and install gates?

Yes. We build and hang timber driveway and pedestrian gates, steel and timber farm gates, rural entrance gates and commercial swing gates, and we set the posts so they stay square.

02Can you match a gate to my existing fence?

Yes. We can build timber gates to match paling, picket and horizontal slat fences, so the gate looks like part of the fence.

03Do you install automatic gates?

Yes. We have installed automatic sliding gate openers on driveway gates, and we build the gate and posts to suit. Tell us what you have in mind and we'll talk through the options.

04What size gate do I need for a vehicle or trailer?

Measure the widest thing you'll bring through and allow clearance either side. We can measure up on site and recommend a width, and a double gate for wide machinery.

05How much does a gate cost?

It depends on the size, material, hardware and whether it is automated. We give a free, no-obligation on-site quote so you know the price before we start.

06My gate drops or drags. Can it be fixed?

Often, yes. A gate that sags or drags is usually a post or hinge problem. Get in touch and we'll look at whether it can be reset and re-hung or needs replacing.

07What areas do you cover?

We install gates across Hamilton, Cambridge, Te Awamutu, Morrinsville, Ngāruawāhia, Huntly and the surrounding Waikato districts.
